🍂 Depict your Crederian attending the Autumn King's festivities
Details
As you carefully step past the door the soft sound of music hits your ears cleanly, as though a bit of cotton fell with the crossing. Rich red carpet leads your eyes along a dark hallway, the walls covered in portraits that blur and sway away from direct eyesight, and curtains lined in between like still crimson waterfalls leading to a lit room of colors that you can't quite get into focus. The orchestral music beckons from the end of the hallway, caressing your senses gently, a welcome change from the cracking earth outside.
Reaching the end of the hall you walk through a doorway, your body near falling back as you feel yourself colliding with something ...thick. A frantic paw finds that the air feels solid there, not quite tangible but still offering a pressure to your limb. Steeling yourself you cross the doorway and find yourself stepping out into a massive open room that focuses sharply in your vision, with autumnal trees and red leaves lining the ceiling, spilling down the walls and onto the floor in tangles of bark and root. Crederians of all shapes and sizes have made their way there, opting to dance or sit nestled onto one of the numerous couches and themed seats. A few cusions are laid in the crevices of branches far too high and precarious looking for the flightless. Tables laden with foods of all kinds sit on either side of the circular space, and strange, fabric like creatures hold trays with simialr foods. You notice the same creatures that delivered the letters are handing out drinks as well.
One sitting along a nearby branch waves to you and hops down to stand in front. They take a few paces forward and glance back, doing so a few times until you catch on and pad forward.
Stifling the urge to run a paw down the back of your neck to calm the bristling hairs you follow the small creature towards the largest feature of the already enormous room. An intricate braiding of trees coil and curl into what you could only call a throne, growing into thin elegant rails that line the staircase up to it. Holding a large glass in his hand those golden eyes set upon you, The Autumn King sits upon a throne of dark crimson fabric, surrounded by many wrapped parcels that sit on branches and slivers of cut wood. A chuckle you're not entirely sure isn't unkind washes over you.
"How kind of you to make it~"
Your crederian has made it to the party! The doorway has opened, and it's time to present your gift. Oh, but before we get to that, you have a few options, you are at a party after all~

Getting Swept Away | Hallway of Echoes | Presenting your Gift
- Getting Swept Away: The party is in full swing, floating instruments cut through the air in elegant motions, the orchestral music filling the space with ease while crederians dance on the polished floor below. Maybe it's best to stick to the tables and cushions, there's plenty of food to go around. The colors of much of the food feels just different enough to make you pause, though taking a bite leaves you with nothing but delightful flavor. You eat, and then eat some more.. maybe you'd like to dance? Has a friend managed an invitation of their own? Perhaps fate has brought you both here to this very moment. Any nerves felt by the less-musically inclined are assuaged as soon as the intent to dance is felt. The steps come naturally, or unnaturally , as you find yourself dancing steps you've never known before... Try not to panic in front of the king... The spell isn't above letting you embarass yourself. Depict your Crederian dancing along the checkered ballroom floor or enjoying an alarmingly large meal at the offered tables. Dancing with a partner, or solo? The small creatures who invited you here might be open to sharing a dance~
- Hallway of Echoes: Guests have been told to avoid going into the tall thin hallway openings found between each glass window wall lest they be lost to the whims of the labyrinth it holds, (You're not sure how there are hallways between these windows if they're letting in so much light....peeking in rewards you with seemingly endless hallways with ornate portraits, elegant doors, and those same cascading crimson curtains lining the walls...) but perhaps you're brave enough to tempt fate or simply were not paying attention to your surroundings, and as you glance up you meet the blurred face of a portrait whose face is getting clearer by the second... Depict your Crederian wandering the endless labyrinth of hallways. Red curtains line the walls, with ornate portraits or elegant doors in between. The walls change in design, leaves adorn the walls alongside leaf motifs, pinstripes, checkers, and below a deep crimson rug covers dark hardwood floors. Decorative tables may be found under any given portrait, and one happens to contain a lit candelabra to help you light your way. The face on that portrait is mostly blurry, but a dark furrowed brow and kind blue-eyed gaze offers a sympathetic look.
The voice, however unexpeced, rings out soft and melodic. The words are fuzzy, and only one string stands out clearly, "If you see a familiar face in a portrait, you may greet them- you'll feel an impulse to at least- but don't let them keep you, or you will get stuck. The candles will expose marks on the hall entrances, follow them... please". You're already moving through the hallway, and while you no longer see the portrait when you turn back, a new song gently urges you on, making your chest feel light despite the opressive darkness. - Presenting your Gift: It's time. Your efforts into procuring a gift for The Autumn King have all been waiting for this moment. You line up, waiting your turn until you blink and suddenly you're alone on the marble steps, with the hair-raising sensation hitting you full force. The king sits up as you ascend, "Ah, is that a gift? For me?", a rich, clear voice with a playful lilt does little to settle your nerves. "What have you brought?"
Depict your Crederian presenting their gift to The Autumn King. He appreciates your efforts, thanking you and, requesting you turn your hand palm-up towards him. A chilled hand meets yours as he places something in it.
Are you the type to get it over with immediately? Did you wait and watch the others present while your sit along the edge of the party? A small quip about your etiquette may murmur out of the King's lips but he waves you off, hoping you enjoy the party for however long it pleases you. He holds your gift with a reverence, looking it over and handling it with care.
It isn't until you actually present your gift that the ever-present feeling of eyes on you goes away...
