This Pawbird has found joy in the study of the Arcane, sponging it up faster than any around them. So fast in fact that they didn't know how to put a stop the knowledge, finding themselves transformed in more ways than one...

A hunger for knowledge bestowed upon all Pawbirds drew this particular one down the path of arcane study to an obsessive extent. They left no stone unturned as they raced towards their perpetual goal of understanding what caused magic in the first place. The historical scrolls and tomes they'd managed to get their hands on were unsatisfying, and so they turned to the older towns where oratory stories were shared amongst the communities. Sweet tales of old, some more mystifying than others, usually about a benevolent or mischevious creture that would either help lost children find their way back home or cause travellers to be forever lost and wantering. Whimsical, but ultimately nothing exciting for the Pawb... at least until they caught the hushed whispers. Stories of a being composed of pure raw magic that caused destruction wherever they went.

That knowledge fueled the flames of curiosity further, and their journey took them across the continent in search, connecting stories, finding leads, and eventually losing it all once their leads turned up dead ends.. Perhaps what they were chasing were just stories after all...

The creature that walks through the gnarled twisted wood filled with pitch is almost too beautiful to face headon. Their once limp hair bounced with each step, voluminous and softly curling. A bubble of laughter spills from their lips as they take in their surroundings, watching the thin wisps of magic be carried on the wind. Racing throughts attempt to categorize the strands of magic; Water, Wind, Earth, Frost? No... not yet. The wind was not kind in the forest, carrying a chill that, to a normal crederian, would definitely require a sweater. For our Pawbird however, their scaled hide was warm to the touch, unable to really feel any bite. 

They take a gleeful step forward, fully enthralled by the sights and sounds of the wood before them, when they pause. A hushed whisper from behind causes them to turn and-

A sudden onslaught of emotions fills them when their eyes meet the inky darkness. Their own eyes reflecting the dark pool as they let out a piercing scream. Fragmented memories of colors, sensations, and voices fill their head for what feels like an eternity, though in the next heaving breath it suddenly ends, forcibly replaced instead with an uncanny comfort. The pawbird almost thinks they see a face within that dark pool, and, not quite remembering what they were just worrying about, waves, turns, and begins their trek through the forest, humming a cheerful tune as they do.

Soul Sigils & Emotive States:

• Soul Sigils manifest their standard color at birth. This color stays consistent a pawbird's entire lifetime from the moment they appear and is categorized as the Neutral State of a Pawbird. As a plume learns to express their emotions their sigil begins to flicker different colors building in frequency as they age until they reach adulthood, where their secondary Emotive Color manifests from the strongest emotion that rules your pawbird at that stage in life as they enter adulthood. 
• Every Pawbird has a Neutral, and Emotive state. 
• Sigils manifest on the chest and share a color with the eyes; these are the mandatory soul points
  • there are other optional soul points that raise in rarity depending on what aspect of the pawb it affects
• Upon entering the Emotive state, whether it's a brief but strong shock or an extended tantrum, all soul points shift to the Emotive color, and will remain as such until the Pawb calms down and returns to the Neutral State
• The Illusionist has a small amount of their original Emotive color left (deep blue) which reflects that Fear was the strongest emotion for them.
