A tarnished gold claw slides a contract forward. "With this, your luck will turn completely, all I ask for is a simple exchange. The rings upon your fingers, how preciously those gems shine. I'm not greedy, just two will do."

"But, these are heirlooms from my family's estate, I can't simply give them away... Please, anything else."

"Ah, well then, it seems your need is not so great in the end. I've named my price, you either meet it, or you turn tail back to your precious surface."

The dark golden markings on the speaker's face catch the light reflected on the cavern walls, framing a piercing green gaze that stays unblinking. The other being in the room begins to shake, knowing they'd called on too many favors to come down to these depths to turn around with nothing. With a shaking paw, two rings inlaid with deep red jewels are laid upon the stone slab. The faint insignia of their family crest glows lightly from within. Their other hand holds a glass ink-filled instrument, pressed lightly against the parchment.

"S-so, I sign here, and everything will be taken care of?"

A smile as charming as it is unnerving splits the Kanti's face, "And you won't have a worry in the world once it is."

With a slight tremble, the contract is signed.

A creature with an intimidating face, known to lie in the dark waters away from passerby. Preferring peace and quiet until something... interesting comes along. With a silver tongue promising what those in need want to hear, they've made their living hoarding valuables traded to them in these deals that, for all intents and purposes, have never turned sour for this creature. No matter what they have to promise or, in some cases, threaten, this creature will never leave empty handed. So what if the Crederians who leave his domain might never make it back to the surface? Or make decisions so foolhardy with their newfound confidence that it won't ever become a consequence for the deal maker? What this Kanti sells is hope, and to them, it's as valuable as petty gold, gems, deeds, and the like.  

The waters churn unsettlingly around the home of this being, charmed to make travel difficult for any unwanted guests. Perceptive eyes may glean a glowing ripple causing this disturbance, though most won't see anything by the time the water tears them down.

A clawed hand caresses the frilled head of a gold-toothed eel, the slippery thing trilling in return as its body reforms from the water in the room. It coils languidly around the Kanti, and settles like a halo atop their head. With a pleased smile that glimmers gold, the Kanti moves to inspect its newfound spoils.

It's simple really, harness the power of the very life essence of your home, and no one will ever bother you.
