Jolly Roger
He honestly didn't expect to be doing anything this summer beyond packing his stuff from Lothain and moving to Windan. This was the land he was born in, after all. Scales shimmered under the sunlight, reflecting the waters of the sea before him. He didn't remember the waters being so treacherous, but years had gone and passed since he came home. Many things had changed, he realized. Just as he had.
Sellen sighed and took the fabric given by these odd strangers, figuring the summer was still young so why not take on an adventure? Lothric would be disappointed in him if he said no, yet there was so much to do at home! The kanti hung his head in defeat as he thought of a design to scrawl across the fabric with various paints acquired by the strange pair. All he could think of was the dull glass that sometimes washed up on shore. Sea glass of various shapes with shades of blues, greens, and teals. The fabric chosen was a dark navy, a good backdrop to the stones he thought of. The paint looked thick enough to cover whatever color the canvas was.
Painting wasn't exactly his forte, but he figured if he took his time, something would take shape. Sellen would first trim the shape of the flag he wanted, which was the standard rectangle. He didn't want to do anything too fancy; only enough to represent himself and for it to be visible to whoever would be monitoring him. He knew it needed to be unique in some way, but that would be done with the paint.
After cutting his desired shape, Sellen would then pick up the paintbrush and lightly outline his stones with white, careful to space them out. Once he was satisfied with the positioning and shapes, he would then carefully color in with a light teal as the base. Sellen would shade appropriately once every single one was painted in correctly with precision. He didn't realize how much of a perfectionist he was, it surprised him. He actually enjoyed the process, even if it was slow. He wanted to be satisfied with it. Sellen figured if he was going to have fun this summer, he couldn't half-ass it. He had to put his all into the fun!
Once the sea glass was shaded in and he felt satisfied, he would sit back and look at his work. Something was missing though... maybe a fringe? He'd scrawl some white coral around the edges, making the stones pop even more in the center. He'd then use some jewels to act as shiny bubbles dotting along the back.
"Looks good enough!" he barked, smiling as he was happy with his artwork. As he secured his flag along a wooden pole, he would raise it up, letting it flap in the sea breeze. The jewel stones glistened as much as he was! The jeweled kanti would prance off now, excited for the next step in his adventure.
