Transporting
"An odd place to take a nap..."
Lids flickered open, exposing the purple gaze of Yura. Lounging on her back, the leloko glanced up to find a red kanti staring lazily. Both were still for quite some time, eyes locked and unwavering. Eventually, Yura rolled up, tail whipping across the mossed rock as she balanced herself to stand.
"Right, I suppose you won't say anything," the kanti commented, shifting to the side as if to follow the leloko if she were to take off. "That's fine. Look, you just woke up from your hibernation, yeah? I'm sure you'll need someone to escort you back to Lere."
Yura snorted, rolling her eyes as if she were making some sarcastic remark. She always hated being escorted anywhere, let alone to a celebration. This kanti was assuming a lot, but she couldn't quite tell them to piss off. Yura was not in the mood nor was she capable of protesting. If anything, she figured she could at least buy something useful at the markets while the festival boomed. It was the crowds that she was dreading.
"You'll be more comfortable out of the woods. I'm sure you're hungry. The fields aren't too far." The red kanti started to move down the trail before looking back, pausing to see if Yura would follow. She sighed, knowing he was right, and slipped down to the ground. She would stiffly limp over to him, nodding her head as if indicating to keep going. The kanti smiled briefly before obliging.
"I'm Lothric by the way, just here to try to escort anyone who needs it." Yura nodded in acknowledgment. She didn't quite care enough to stop and let him know her name, though in due time she may. The lure of sunlight was stronger than trying to have a conversation.
After dragging her paws for what seemed like forever, they arrived in the open space of the meadows. With her last ounce of strength, Yura scurried her way to a nice open spot in the sun and laid down, limbs pulled behind her. Her flower opened wide, glistening with dew. The warm sun felt so good against her back. Lothric wandered over eventually, tail flicking in amusement. He gazed across the land, taking in the view. "I've always loved spring."
Once Yura had her fill, she stood up and shook off the heat. She nodded to Lothric who had decided to take a nap himself before the journey. He smiled and rose to his feet. He hoped they'd get back by sundown, he was getting quite hungry. The food stalls must smell amazing by now.
"Think you can keep up?" he asked, Yura scowling at him. What kind of question was that? Tail swayed a bit, showing her annoyance.
"Good, let's go then!" The kanti started to trot down the trail. The leloko kept up with him the entire way to Lere. Once they reached the outskirts of the fairgrounds, Lothric slowed to a leisurely walk. Yura trotted past him, not missing a beat until she was within Lere. Lothric was surprised but didn't pursue her. He did his job, after all. He got her to her destination safely.
Now for some food.
